To solve the percentage easy way need to learn the following formula

Percentage formula = `(Is)/(Of)` = `%/100` or part / whole  = `%/100`

Percentage formula = Changes in value   x 100%
Original value

Example:

Jessica last month earned salary `$` 1200. He earned this month salary `$` 500. Find how much percentage decreased in her salary amount.

Solution:

Jessica decreased salary = new salary – original salary

`$` 500 –`$` 1200 = 700

Salary percentage decrease = `700/1200` x100%= 58.33%

Jessica decreases salary percentage is 58.33%.

Example:

Solve 15 % of 450 is how much?

Solution:

Is/450= `15/100`

Let unknown variable x

`X/450` = `15/100`

by Cross multiplication× 100 = 450 x 15

x × 100 = 6750

100x = 6750

x = `6750/100`

x = 67.5

So 15 % of 450 is 67.5

Example:

Kim last month earned salary `$` 1350. He earned this month salary `$` 1700. Find how many percentage increases in his salary amount.

Solution:

Kim increased salary = new salary – original salary

`$` 1700 –`$` 1350 = 350

Salary percentage increase = `350/1350` x100% = 25.9%
